On the other hand, Frank, in his forties, has established a thriving advertising agency from scratch. Instantly drawn to each other, they embark on a whirlwind romance and tie the knot within a few months.

Although this may initially appear as the conventional tale of a young woman dating an older, wealthier man, Mellors' distinctive narrative style introduces a fresh perspective. Cleo and Frank's relationship becomes the central thread that weaves through the lives of those around them, affecting their friends and family. Essentially, it is a love story, but one seen through the eyes of others.
